Our client is currently seeking an Inside Sales Representative
They are a well-established, privately held business located in southeastern MA with over thirty years of experience. They are a leading importer of high-quality, fresh, and frozen fish from Central and South America, which they distribute throughout the United States and Canada from our distribution center in Miami, FL.
They are seeking a highly motivated Sales Representative with a proven track record to manage and grow several existing key accounts and expand the company’s customer base. This is an in-house position with excellent growth opportunities.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sales Representative is responsible for achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects, and closing sales.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned customer list timely
- Source new sales opportunities through inbound calls, outbound cold calls, and emails
- Understand customer needs and requirements
- Close sales and achieve budget quotas
- Research accounts, identify key players, and generate interest
- Maintain and expand your database of prospects
- Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth
- Monitor inventory daily and assist in moving products quickly
- Understand trucking routes and customers' need for prepaid or collected shipments
- Ensure all orders are entered, priced and purchase orders are printed and filed
- Follow up with the customer if orders are not shipped in full
- Fill in for Logistics Coordinator when required
- Required to work a Saturday rotating schedule
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Individuals must have excellent communication and telephone skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English. Must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents such as financial documents / invoices, safety rules, policies, and procedure manuals. Bi-lingual skills may be helpful.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have a degree of computer literacy including competence in Microsoft Outlook and the Internet.
REASONING ABILITY AND OTHER SKILLS
Individuals must have the ability to assess situations and resolve routine matters without supervision. Must have good attention to detail. Must have good analytical skills to identify the nature of problems, determine what is needed to rectify problems, and implement new procedures to resolve them.
EDUCATION
Individuals must have a High School degree, but college courses / associate’s degree with a focus on business is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Individuals must have two or more years working in a fast-paced inside sales environment with a focus on achieving sales quotas. Individuals must be motivated and organized to ensure our customers are happy.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Individuals must be a positive team player and be courteous. Individuals must be able to take instruction well, work independently, and demonstrate sound judgment. Individual must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision. Must display a professional manner and must possess excellent oral and written communication skills when interacting with management, co-workers, and customers. Individuals must possess patience, good judgment, tact, accuracy, and reliability. Individuals must demonstrate multi-tasking skills and exhibit effective time management. Individual must have a self-awareness of their appearance / personal hygiene.
