Job Title: Server Administrator

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite in Indianapolis with occasional travel

Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Server Administrator to join their team. In this role, you will manage and optimize our computing environment, including hardware procurement, system support, project management, and infrastructure monitoring. You will contribute to the success of our IT operations and ensure the seamless functioning of critical systems.



Key Responsibilities:

• Support and manage Active Directory infrastructure, including Group Policy design and administration.
• Automate system processes and environmental changes using PowerShell scripting.
• Design, deploy, and troubleshoot VMware ESX servers and virtual environments (Windows and Linux).
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established process protocols.
• Lead and manage server deployment projects and Active Directory upgrades.
• Monitor server infrastructure using tools like SolarWinds and document configurations.
• Provide advanced Tier 3 server support, including on-call and after-hours assistance.
• Collaborate with ServiceDesk to resolve escalated technical issues efficiently.
• Travel occasionally (up to 20%) for specific projects and operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team's success.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma (required); Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years' experience managing Active Directory/Group Policy.
• VMWare certifications, such as VCP-DCV, are a plus.
• Proficiency in technologies such as:
  
  • Group Policy and login scripts management
  • PowerShell scripting for automation
  • Windows Server configuration and troubleshooting
  • VMware ESXi configuration, clusters (DRS, HA), and resource allocation
  • Microsoft Cloud solutions (Office 365 tenant management, Azure resources)
  • DNS/DHCP setup and troubleshooting

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of ITIL-based service delivery, including incident, change, and problem management.
• Self-driven problem-solving ability and accountability.
• Effective communication skills with a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
• Proven critical thinking and analytical skills for tackling complex challenges.
• Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
