Job Description:
As a Lead Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our testing processes from manual to automated. Your leadership and technical expertise will be crucial in developing automation scripts, building CI/CD pipelines, and coaching the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automation Development: Spend 80% of your time creating automation scripts.
- Team Coaching: Conduct classes to teach automation frameworks to manual testers.
- Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to the team, although you will not have direct reports.
Interview Process:
- Two rounds of interviews conducted via Zoom.
Technical Experience:
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Java 8 (or newer), JavaScript, Spring/Spring Boot.
- Scripting: Strong skills in VB scripting, Excel Macros, Cypress, Sikulix, Winium, Selenium.
- Web Technologies: Experience with HTTP, XML, REST, HTML, and microservice architecture/API concepts.
- Version Control: Familiarity with GIT, Bitbucket.
- Web Testing: Knowledge of web testing methods and SQL queries (SQL Server 2012 and higher).
- DevOps: Experience with build, deployment, integration, code management tools like Jenkins, Maven, automated deployment.
- Communication: Ability to negotiate, communicate, and deliver effective automated test solutions to both Development and QA teams.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Experience: 6 years of hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, and related technologies.
- Leadership: Proven leadership qualities including a sense of ownership, strong communication skills, creativity, initiative, attention to detail, and mentoring/coaching other developers.
- Automation Skills: Strong capabilities in writing automation scripts and queries.
- Testing: Demonstrated understanding of formal software test design techniques and developing testing scripts using various tools (Cypress, Winium, Sikulix, Selenium, etc.).
