Description: Our client is currently seeking a Tier III Applications & Development Support professional
*This is an onsite and direct hire (W2) opportunity!
This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide development and support for Verifone/Gilbarco POS environment.
- Handle Tier III tickets and collaborate with store team members to resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability of POS.
- Troubleshoot store applications, including rewards programs, monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Create interfaces for current and new systems using PowerShell and SQL, including FTP, data handling between the company and third-party systems.
- Pull various data sources via API caller for loading into the data warehouse.
- Provide Level-3 and advanced support for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Utilize independent judgment, creative thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills to improve business processes.
- Work with TLOG or general log data and manipulate it effectively.
- Provide on-call support as needed and handle escalations from Tier II support.
- Understand and make general configuration changes comfortably.
- Bachelor's Degree in MIS or equivalent experience (10 years).
- 5 years of relevant work experience in large organizations in a support role, specifically in Tier III development and support.
- 5 years of experience with SQL, POS, and .NET (though .NET is not strictly required).
- Experience in C-Stores or retail is required; understanding of fuel pumps is ideal.
- Ability to create APIs for interfacing across various programs and ingest data into a Data Warehouse, including reporting.
- Hands-on experience as a technical support/application engineer, comfortable with writing scripts for production or store/POS systems.
- Previous experience as a Tier III engineer or applications support with ERP knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to solve complex and cross-functional problems independently.
- Comfortable working independently on projects and driving them to completion.
- Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Remedy or ServiceNow.
- Previous POS experience.
- Strong analytical, technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience writing technical documents, software design documentation, and maintenance.
- Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools.
- Previous experience in restaurant/retail companies with extensive POS support systems (preferred)
