STATUS: Exempt – Full Time
SUMMARY:
Judicial Watch, Inc. is seeking a paralegal with 3-5 years of litigation experience to work closely with its 15 attorneys on federal lawsuits brought under Civil Rights statutes, the Freedom of Information Act, the Privacy Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and the National Voter Registration Act as well as state lawsuits for public records and on behalf of taxpayers challenging the constitutionality or legality of government action.
This is an in-person position. The candidate must have at least three years of litigation experience. Judicial Watch will strongly consider a candidate with:
- A paralegal certification or equivalent.
- Prior experience using Clio Manage and Clio Grow.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- An understanding and commitment to Judicial Watch’s mission, its litigation approach, and the Conservative Movement generally.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitoring case activity and maintaining case file information in Clio Manage.
- Knowing and understanding court rules and ensuring compliance for each case.
- Proofreading and cite-checking briefs and other legal documents.
- Preparing and finalizing briefs and other legal documents for filing.
- Conducting factual research and investigations related to current or future litigation.
- Assisting the Legal Department with other projects and deliverables, as necessary.
