PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provides clerical services, instructional support and assists with the daily operation of the campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work well and in a positive manner with students, employees and the public
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Pleasant voice on telephone, personable attitude and appearance to public
- Ability to remain calm in a stressful situation, and defuse confrontational situations
- Demonstrates a mature, responsible attitude necessary for the position
- Ability to operate a multi-line phone system
- Ability to meet established deadlines
- Knowledge of basic accounting principals
Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year clerical, secretarial, and/or data entry experience in an office setting
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Utilizes district programs to verify, tabulate, and record student information.
- Assist the campus administration, teachers, and/or staff in the preparation and management of instructional, clerical and program support
- Receives telephone communications and telephone referrals, routes to the appropriate staff, and maintains an accurate log of each.
- Assist campus administration with use and/or maintenance of office equipment
- Perform noon duty during lunch and after school
- Assist with switchboard as needed
- Relieve other auxiliary staff when necessary
- Answer the telephone in a pleasant manner
- Dispense supplies to the staff, distribute mail, faxes, and items from parent to students
- Substitute for classrooms that are lacking a teacher until relief arrives
- Assist with the printing and distribution of reports, interim progress reports, report cards including but not limited to: Add/Drop, Attendance Check Sheets, Class Rosters, Special programs, UIL Eligibility, etc.
- Assist with registration and textbook distribution
- Acts as chaperone, as necessary, for college and career field trips
- Assist with the Coordinate TSI/SAT/ACT registration, NCAA eligibility registration
- Assist the campus in providing transportation, parking permit information to students, staff and/or parents
- Supervise students as requested by campus administration
- Maintain an orderly office area
- Attend required in-service training sessions as well as individual training as determined by the principal
- Perform other duties as assigned, based on department needs
- Must complete designated district technology proficiencies each year
- Requires a basic knowledge of technology/computer skills
- Ability to use personal computer to access district programs, emails, and other resources
- Maintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ensure compliance with the Texas Educator’s Code of Ethics
- Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision and evaluation of District personnel is not a requirement of the position; however, the supervision of students is required.
Equipment Used:
- Office equipment – personal computer, printer, calculator, multi-line telephone, software programs and peripherals, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
- Communication equipment – radio communication equipment, cellular telephone
Mental Demands:
- Ability to read, concentrate, communicate effectively (verbally and written), interpret, reason, understand verbal instructions, memorize, coordinate, compile, compute, analyze, differentiate
- Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress

Environmental Factors:
