PRIMARY PURPOSE :
Perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of district HVAC units, including air- and water-cooled chillers and water tube and condensing boiler.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Driver's License, a good driving record, and proof of insurance on vehicle used to travel to district
- Texas State Master's Licenses for HVAC and Refrigeration, preferred
- Must have a Universal EPA CFC license
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check

Minimum (5) five years of experience in the trade with experience trouble shooting and repairing boilers, air- and water-cooled chillers, ice machines and other refrigeration equipment.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

Comply with District directives and Maintenance Policies and safety proceduresDevelop procedures and schedule for preventative maintenance on all district HVAC equipment, ice machines, and other refrigeration equipmentCoordinate, inspect, and report to the Maintenance / HVAC Supervisor, contractor's work as required for new installations and repair of equipmentDevelop procedures for the recovery and recycling of refrigerants to conform with the Clean Air ActRecommend recovery and recycling equipment to be purchased by the districtReport status to potential and / or pending problems with installed equipment to the Maintenance / HVAC supervisor on all refrigeration equipmentOrder material and parts as required for maintaining HVAC and refrigeration equipmentPerform all line maintenance as required for satisfactory operation of refrigeration and HVAC equipment within the districtPerform preventive maintenance and periodic checks on all district HVAC and refrigeration equipmentEnsure that all safety requirements are followedKeep all HVAC related tools and equipment in good working orderMust be able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and possess knowledge of electrical and HVAC componentsPossess knowledge and perform maintenance of control systems for HVAC equipment operationMaintain shop and truck inventory and orders parts as required to maintain equipment operationsServe as senior craftsmanPerform other duties as assigned, based on department needsMust complete designated district technology proficiencies each yearRequires a basic knowledge of technology / computer skillsAbility to use personal computer to access district programs, emails, and other resourcesMaintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearanceEnsure compliance with the Texas Educator's Code of EthicsDaily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the jobSupervisory Responsibilities :
