DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL WORK
General Purpose :
To provide oversight of the social work team and ensure the necessary services are provided for each resident to maintain his / her optimal level of psychosocial well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Leadership Role Responsiblities
- Serves in a direct social work role while providing social work leadership across the organization.
- Maintains a caseload of core social work responsibilities
- Provides support and education to the social work team to ensure that ongoing services are provided across campuses
- Collaborates with other members of the leadership team to identify gaps or areas of improvement for social work services
- Establishes departmental goals and objectives in alignment with strategic priorities.
- Serves as a leader for the admission process offering training and guidance for the social work role.
Social Work Responsibilities
psychosocial assessments, information and referral, discharge planning, suicide risk assessments and advocacy.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications :
Ohio Licensed Social Worker, BSW, Computer Literate, 3 years of experience in a gerontological setting
Previous management experience or leadership experience preferred
Master’s degree in social work preferred
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to move about the facility without assistance (on foot or in wheelchair). Must possess sight / hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately in order to fulfill the requirements of the position. Must be able to write and speak the English Language in an understandable manner.
Be able to sit at desk for periods of time. Use computer for periods of time.
Working Conditions :
Will work on the units, in residents’ rooms elsewhere within the building or off site as required.
Moves about intermittently throughout the workday. Is subject to frequent interruptions. May be exposed to infectious waste and diseases.
Office environment. Will share office space with others, if necessary. Office may not have access to natural light, noisy at times, privacy not always guaranteed.
