General Purpose:
To ensure a clean, safe and comfortable living environment for the residents of Judson Retirement Communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform assigned cleaning duties and a variety of other building maintenance and customer service related tasks in accordance with established department procedures and standards. These duties include but are not limited to: Carpet and hard floor maintenance, rubbish removal, window washing, cleaning ceilings & light fixtures, hanging drapery, furniture moves, facility set-ups and the pick-up and delivery of packages. In addition to these routine duties personnel may be cross-trained in basic laundry operations and other job classifications within their primary department. Regular attendance of departmental and organizational meetings and in-services are required. Personnel are to respond to all facility emergencies as outlined in the emergency handbook and to report any unsafe condition or situation involving this facility or its residents to your supervisor or security.
Miscellaneous: Maintains a record of acceptable attendance and punctuality. Observes all company rules and safety procedures. Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:
High School graduate or equivalent is required. Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions. Experience in institutional housekeeping and laundry techniques is desirable. Personnel must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing situations in the workplace and the ability to harmoniously work and interact with people in a diverse environment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass physical examination upon employment and periodically thereafter if so required. Must be neat in appearance and maintain appropriate hygiene. Have no handicaps which would preclude the performance of duties outlined in this job description.
Physical demands may include kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching, pushing, manipulating stairs, talking, hearing, standing for extended periods, crouching, stooping, walking, lift a minimum of 60 lbs. and repetitive motion.
Working Conditions: Controlled climate and all types of weather. Must be able to tolerate working conditions consistent with duties outlined in this job description, e.g. reasonable noise levels, dust and other particulate matter, exposure to a variety of cleaning chemicals and odors, and an environment that supports animal life.
