Cashier's primary role is to assist customers at the check-out process in a retail setting. Cashiers may also perform other tasks, such as:
Customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve complaints
Processing transactions: Ring up sales, collect payment, and issue receipts
Maintaining records: Keep track of sales, receipts, and withdrawals
Processing returns and exchanges: Handle returns and exchanges in a timely manner
Maintaining the store: Keep the checkout area clean and tidy, and help with general cleaning
Helping customers find items: Help customers locate products in the store
Checking stock: Check materials and supplies, and report when stock is low
Verifying age: Verify a customer's age for purchasing certain products
Processing coupons and vouchers: Redeem coupons and vouchers
Cashiers should have strong customer service skills, be able to multitask, and have basic math skills. They should also be friendly, helpful, and able to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and managers.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 24 per week
