What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Program Associate, Jewish Young Families position at JUF Brand?
What you’ll be responsible for:
You will be responsible for reaching out and meeting expectant parents and new parents (parents of children 0-24 months). You will connect with other Jewish families in Chicago and plan relevant and meaningful experiences for jBaby families bimonthly. You will also create experiences for parents only gatherings. This is a part-time, 20-25 hours per week position that requires you to be in the office at least 1 day per week and staff 1 infant playgroup a week. The salary range for this position is $25,000-$30,000.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage the jBaby Chicago Master List in Microsoft Excel by keeping track of when a new family signs up, is sent a welcome email, and the date of first meeting.
- Identify new Jewish parents and families in the community, meet new parents for coffee dates (average two per week), share details about the jBaby program, and deliver swag bags. Seek out opportunities to find new parents to get involved (e.g., visit new parent offerings in Chicagoland area, both within and outside of the Jewish community).
- Create content for, write, and distribute monthly newsletter to jBaby families in Chicago
- Facilitate weekly Chicago infant playgroup
- Attend JUF Young Family Chicago events (about 1-2 times per month)
- Participate in virtual and in person monthly trainings to learn and share best practices for engagement and outreach, as well as skill building to hold meaningful one-on-one conversations and facilitate connections
- Contribute to jBaby Chicago social media content, participate in online conversations with topics of interest to new parents, and monitor social media sites to learn what is already being offered for new parents with young children locally to share on monthly conference calls and/or at training sessions
- Support JUF Campaign and mandatory campaign-related activities on an ongoing basis
What you need to succeed:
- REQUIRED:
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Canva, Constant Contact, or other communication/marketing platforms
- Live in the City of Chicago and/or have extensive knowledge of city neighborhoods
- Access to reliable transportation in the City of Chicago
- Knowledge of the Chicago Jewish community and services provided by JUF and its beneficiary agencies
- PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Knowledge of the unique needs of families with young children
- Valid driver’s license
