As Our Program Associate, you will support the Foundation team in all aspects of the Foundation’s grant review and grant-making, including administration, research and special projects, with a particular focus on due diligence including proposal review, working with applicants to prepare proposals and project budgets, and partnering with grantees to monitor progress of existing projects.
This position will be responsible for regularly visiting grantees throughout the Chicago area to assess progress and support mission alignment, as well as participating in board meetings. You must be able to travel independently throughout Chicago as well as be available in evenings and weekends on occasion.
Specific duties of the position include:
- Administrative support to program team
- Research and develop awareness of sector best practices
- Respond to external inquiries about the Foundation
- Attend external events and professional development opportunities
Reporting to the Director of Impact and operations, you will learn the foundation side of grants, while having direct contact and responsibility with grantees and board members.
All grantees must embody one of the following values important to the foundation:

- Innovation & Growth, particularly organizational sustainability and scaling
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years experience in a non-profit and/or foundation. Off-site work at locations throughout Cook and Lake counties will be required regularly for site visits and other meetings, with occasional meetings outside regular work hours, as needed.
We work in the office 2 days a week and 3 days remotely currently. Time is spent with grantee partners that may be located in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. The office is located in Highland Park IL, within a short walk from the Metra station.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
