Summary
Julie Billiart Schools is a network of schools serving children grades K-8 with special learning
challenges. Currently we have campuses in Akron, Brecksville, Lyndhurst and Westlake that offer
unique learning environments for students with autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, specific learning
deficiencies and social learning challenges. We are Catholic, non-public schools that welcome
diverse faith traditions.
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for onboarding, mentoring and creating instruction for Junior
Counselors that focus on skills needed in a vocational setting (professionalism, social/emotional
awareness, interviewing skills, executing functioning skills, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a list of primary duties and responsibilities. Other duties to be assigned as
needed. Reasonable accommodations can be made to employees with qualified disabilities who

? Create an application process/interview and hire Junior Counselors
? Send out onboarding paperwork and contracts
? Be in communication with Junior Counselors about updates such as open house and
camp related information prior to start date
? Plan and instruct a 4-week curriculum focusing on skills needed in a vocational setting
(professionalism, social/emotional awareness, interviewing skills, executing functioning
skills, etc.)
? Create and track individualized goals for Junior Counselors
? Provide weekly evaluations and feedback to Junior Counselors
? Send weekly memos home to parents covering what the theme/lesson of the week was
and progress Junior Counselor is making on their goals.
Requirements
Qualifications, Education and Experience
Necessary and desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
? Skilled in differentiating education
? Experience providing strategies for improved executive functioning
? Ability to implement and be a mentor on social and behavioral strategies for teens
Skills and abilities
? Excellent skills in both verbal and written communication
? Ability to work both independently or within a team
? Proficient at communicating with high school aged students, parents and colleagues
Other characteristics such as personal characteristics
? Flexible thinker able to make adjustments in the moment
? Enthusiastic, driven, and independent
Education
? Minimum of bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related field
? Professional certification or license preferred
Experience
? 2 years working with students with ADHD, Autism, or other learning challenges
? experience with educational data collection and excel data management
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of the job include, standing, sitting, walking and lifting of up to 30
pounds. This position requires being indoors and outdoors, sometimes exposed to typically
weather characteristic of the region.
