Summary:

Julie Billiart Schools is a network of schools serving children in grades K-8 with special learning challenges. Currently there are campuses in Lyndhurst, Akron, Brecksville and Westlake that offer unique learning environments for students with autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia and social learning challenges. We are Catholic, non-public schools that respect diverse faith traditions. 

About the Opportunity:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance issues and maintaining the cleanliness of the plant and grounds of Julie Billiart Schools campuses. This includes walkthroughs of the building to audit and ensure janitorial duties have been completed by cleaning staff.

A successful Maintenance Technician must be able to adequately perform each essential duty, and have met the required job qualifications. 

Essential Duties:

The following is a list of primary duties and responsibilities. Other duties to be assigned as needed. • Complete maintenance requests at campus locations as scheduled or requested which consist of light construction, plumbing, light electrical repair, painting, and other general light maintenance issues that can be handled without contracted services.  
• Utilize work order software to prioritize maintenance requests and document completion of service requests.
• General upkeep of the plant and grounds at each campus, including preventative maintenance needs. 
• Upkeep of the perimeters of the grounds (parking lot, playgrounds).
• Removal of snow from all sidewalks, including salting all sidewalks and driveways as needed. 
• Assist the Director of Facilities with special projects and requests as directed.
• Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. 
• Travel to assigned Julie Billiart Schools campuses as requested based upon high priority requests and projects as needed. 
• All other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Maintenance Technician role 
• Will accept a new college graduate from a technical school or other Maintenance Technician related program.  

Required Job Qualifications

• Basic maintenance trouble shooting and problem-solving skills 
• Excellent skills in both verbal and written communication
• Ability to work both independently and with a team
• Proficient at communicating with internal and external customers
• Results-driven with the ability to be flexible
