The meat department cutter/butcher is responsible for many duties including, but not limited to, meat processing, routine sanitation, safety, and stocking procedures on meat products. They may assist with wrapping and packaging fresh meat and delivering outstanding customer service. Experience in a retail meat department is preferred, but not required. Candidates must possess high integrity, be willing to work with others in a positive way, be dependable and willing to learn new things.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- All areas of customer satisfaction and service, included but not limited to responding to customer requests, questions, and complaints
- Works and communicates successfully with all levels of customers, management, and fellow employees
- Abides by all State and Federal regulations
- Assists with unloading trucks
- Making cutting Lists
- Conducts cutting tests as needed
- Makes sure that the meat market selling area and back room area are clean, orderly, properly stocked, priced, signed, tagged, and rotated
- Assist with monthly inventories
- Verifies all meat department pricing
- Receives merchandising assuring the correct count and proper charges
- Requesting and verifying receiving credits for merchandise - that is damaged and/or short on delivery
- Purchases and merchandises goods for sale to customers
- Assists in delivering meat to customer's cars when requested

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
