Trading Infrastructure is a global organization of Engineers who architect, build and maintain our world-class infrastructure. From colo design / implementation, to optimizing our exchange connectivity, to building world class low latent Wide Area Networks, we leverage research and automation to consistently adapt and innovate our infrastructure to scale and drive our trading and evolving business.
Jump's Trading Infrastructure team is responsible for the datacenters, networks and supporting systems that power both Jump's global low latency environment and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters. In this role you'll have an opportunity t work with the latet in server, network and storage technology such as high-density cabinets and liquid cooling. You'll also exist in a capacity that will allow project ownership from start to finish. Please note that this is an afternoon / evening shift M-F 12 pm - 8 pm or Tu-F 12 pm - 8 pm Saturday 9 am - 5 pm.
What You Will Do :
- Maintain data center infrastructure (power, cooling, hardware, cabling, tools / supplies, etc.). to provide maximum availability of services.
- Perform requirements gathering and planning for new hardware installs (i.e. physical location, power and cooling requirements, cabling, etc.).
- Install and configure data center infrastructure components (cabinets, power strips, structured cabling, etc.).
- Racking and cabling of data center hardware (servers, network equipment, storage devices, etc.).
- Hardware troubleshooting and break-fix.
- Initial configuration of network devices and Linux servers (Linux cli commands, switch cli commands, zero-touch-provisioning).
- Develop and maintain documentation.
- Interface directly with colocation providers and hardware vendors (questions, issues or new requests).
- Manage onsite contractors as needed (provide tasks, validate work, etc.).
- Shipping and receiving of equipment.
- Maintain inventory (serialized assets and consumables).
- Perform capacity planning activities within the Data Center (space, cooling, power, cabling plant).
- Occasional travel to other data centers / Jump offices.
