The EHS Specialist/ Facility Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves overseeing EHS standards for construction, renovation, and operational activities, conducting safety audits, coordinating training, and maintaining compliance with relevant reporting requirements. The EHS Engineer also supports plant services management, ensuring the effective maintenance and operation of equipment and energy-efficient practices.
Requirements/Responsibilities
EHS Management Work
• Develop and maintain company EHS flowcharts and management systems
• Implement environmental, health, and safety management systems in compliance
with federal and state regulations
• Oversee EHS requirements for new construction, renovation, and expansion projects
• Maintain safety standardization and ISO systems; lead internal and external system
audits
• Investigate workplace incidents/injuries and manage corrective action follow-up
• Manage employee occupational health records, medical examinations, and required
reporting
• Coordinate EHS emergency drills and training programs
• Complete governmental reporting requirements including occupational health reports,
hazardous waste annual reports, and safety risk assessments
• Review and supervise high-risk work operations
• Conduct safety hazard audits with follow-up and closure management
• Audit environmental protection facilities, manage hazardous waste storage, and
monitor emissions/discharges
• Liaise with regulatory agencies including EPA, Fire Department, and OSHA
• Conduct at least one full-plant EHS inspection every week, record the inspection
results, issue rectification notices in a timely manner for the discovered problems, and
follow up the rectification status.
Plant Services Management Work
• Conduct daily inspections of plant services equipment, record the operating status
and maintenance status of the equipment, and promptly handle equipment failures
and abnormal situations.
• Conduct comprehensive maintenance and repair work on the plant services system
once a week, including cleaning, lubrication, tightening, etc. to ensure that the
equipment is in good operating condition.
• Prepare monthly plant services energy consumption reports, analyze energy
consumption situations, put forward specific energy-saving and consumption-
reduction measures and suggestions, and organize their implementation.
• Participate in the factory's infrastructure projects, be responsible for the design,
construction supervision and acceptance of the plant services system to ensure the
quality and safety of the plant services system.
• Cooperate with suppliers to handle the procurement and maintenance of plant
services equipment to ensure the normal supply of equipment.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s (Degree Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Chemical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
• Recent graduate
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong internal and external communication and coordination skills
