Description
A working leadership role responsible for directing, supervising and coordinating the activities, operations and maintenance of the street system, sanitary storm drain system and snow removal for the City.
Examples of Duties
- Maintaining the city street system, sanitary storm drain system, snow removal program and general maintenance duties.
Assists in setting up and taking down equipment for various programs, prepares facilities for use.
Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience
Valid Driver's license is required with the ability to obtain a CDL driver's license Class B with air brakes and tanker endorsement within 60 days of start date.
Knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in asphalt and concrete; knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do repairs; knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
Skill in operation of : motorized equipment-backhoe, front loader, motor grader, mini excavator, dump trucks, trailers, miscellaneous hand and power tools for maintenance, and electrical work.
Ability to : work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; communicate orally and in writing; use equipment and tools properly and safely; understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions; establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
