What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Technologist position at June E. Nylen Cancer Center?
Schedule will be 30 hours per week and this is considered full time. Med Tech is responsible for all aspects of the lab including specimen procurement, specimen testing, test resulting, QC, instrument maintenance, proficiency testing, COLA inspections, and instrument calibration. Areas of testing included Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science required in addition to ASCP Board Certification. One year phlebotomy experience strongly preferred. Superior customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Must be detail oriented, have excellent documentation skills, and ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Must have knowledge of good laboratory practices, specimen integrity and stability, federal and state requirements for laboratory operations.
