Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop long-term financial strategies that align with the business objectives of
both the real estate and farm ventures.
- Provide insights into revenue growth opportunities and financial risk
management.
- Design financial models to expedite mortgage repayment schedules.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Create and monitor budgets for both the real estate and farm operations.
- Track and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance,
adjusting forecasts based on trends.
3. Revenue Management & Rent Collection:
- Oversee and streamline rent payment tracking for all commercial buildings,
ensuring all payments are timely and correct.
- Implement a system for regular financial updates on rental income, delinquency
rates, and vacancy costs.
4. Cost Management & Analysis:
- Monitor expenses across all operations, particularly on the farm, to identify high-
cost areas.
- Provide regular feedback on cost trends and recommend measures to maintain
profitability.
- Provide quarterly budgets for each farm division.
5. Debt & Cash Flow Management:
- Strategize on accelerated mortgage payoff schedules and monitor all debt
obligations.
- Oversee cash flow management, prioritizing payments, investments, and
reinvestment opportunities.
- Provide cash on hand statements and projections.
6. Sales Tracking & Reporting (June Farms):
Track all sales activities related to farm services. Identify areas for revenue improvement and recommend adjustments in pricing
or sales strategy.
- Monitor Cabin Reservations and provide advice to increase rentals.
7. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports for internal use and any external
audits.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and industry-specific financial reporting
requirements.
8. Systems Implementation & Process Optimization:
- Assess and implement financial management software to streamline budgeting,
forecasting, and reporting.
- Regularly evaluate financial processes for efficiency and accuracy
improvements.
Bookkeeping Responsibilities:
1. General Ledger Maintenance:
- Oversee accurate and timely posting of all transactions to the general ledger,
ensuring all accounts are up to date.
2. Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P):
- Supervise and ensure the timely processing of incoming and outgoing payments,
including rent collections and vendor payments for farm and real estate
operations.
- Establish clear policies for invoicing, collections, and disbursement approvals.
3. Reconciliation:
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for all business accounts, including
separate accounts for the farm and real estate holdings.
- Regularly reconcile accounts to maintain accurate records and quickly identify
any discrepancies.
4. Expense Tracking & Classification:
- Track, classify, and categorize all expenses accurately across departments (real
estate, farm, and general operations).
- Ensure all expenses are properly recorded for budgeting and tax preparation
purposes.
5. Payroll Management:
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with state and federal
regulations. Track payroll expenses and ensure timely payments for all employees, including
any specific farm-related or seasonal payroll nuances.
6. Inventory & Asset Management (Farm Specific):
- Maintain records of farm inventory, including livestock, equipment, and other farm
assets.
- Track asset depreciation and make recommendations on when to replace or
repair key equipment based on financial feasibility.
7. Tax Preparation Support:
- Compile and organize all relevant financial documents to prepare for annual tax
filing, including all property-specific and agricultural deductions.
- Coordinate with external accountants or tax professionals to ensure compliance
with all tax regulations and timely filing.
8. Financial Record Keeping & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate, organized, and secure storage of all financial records, including
backup documentation for transactions.
- Keep the organization’s financial records in compliance with local, state, and
federal laws and regulations.
9. Personal Financial Statement
- Continually update my Personal Financial Statement so that it is current for bank
loan requests.
10. Insurance Policies
- Manage health, liability and payroll insurance policies.
June Farms Membership:
1. General Oversight of Membership Dues
- Manage collection of membership initiation and annual membership dues.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience in real estate finance and/or agricultural business finance.
- Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset.
- Expertise in cash flow management and debt reduction strategies.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools for budgeting and forecasting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
