Position Summary: The successful candidate for this position will work closely and collaborate with Principal and colleagues on matters such as instructional strategies, ongoing assessment, curriculum and data analysis. This position works to build strong relationships with families and staff necessary to meet the social, emotional and instructional needs of each student. The successful candidate will possess successful experience with primary differentiated instructional strategies in reading, writing and mathematics as well as possess a strong knowledge of Early Childhood best practices. Knowledge of ongoing assessment and progress monitoring of students is essential. This position is responsible for learning and implementing new instructional techniques. This position is a great opportunity for anyone who is a lifelong learner. This position will serve students age 3-5 years of age.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
- Valid Alaska teaching certificate, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Masters' degree in education preferred.
- Attendance at Literacy Institute and/or further training in the teaching of reading.
- Successful preschool or primary teaching experience.
- Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets and database software.
- Proficient in the use of computerized recordkeeping and reporting.
