Jungle Boys is searching for a skilled and detail-oriented Inventory Cost Analyst. As a Inventory Cost Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory valuation, reconciling inventory transactions, and supporting the organization’s financial reporting needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience in inventory management.
Requirements:
- Inventory Accounting & Reconciliation:
- Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP).
- Perform cost analysis and inventory valuation, including FIFO, LIFO, or weighted average methods.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and recorded inventory levels.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare regular inventory reports, including stock levels, turnover rates, and valuation metrics.
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to provide actionable insights for inventory management.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes related to inventory accounts.
- Run periodic time studies on manufactured goods by category to ensure the financial reporting accuracy for cost of goods sold.
- Systems & Processes:
- Maintain and improve inventory tracking systems in collaboration with IT and operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing inventory management best practices.
- Audit & Compliance:
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP or IFRS standards in inventory-related activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years’ experience in inventory accounting or a related role.
- Proficiency in [ERP system, e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite] and advanced Excel skills (Financial Modelling).
- Experience in seed-to-sale tracking system (Dutchie/Biotrack) is a plus
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, retail, or distribution industries.
- Familiarity with cost accounting principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced environment.
