This position manages, orders, and audits postal accountable (stock), oversees cash and budget related to operations, and ensures the college post office follows USPS regulations and college guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Processes all incoming, outgoing, and intercampus mail daily, following applicable postal regulations.
- Oversees institutional bulk mail permits and manages funding to cover postage for college mailings. Advises users of bulk mailing on necessary procedures and methods of reducing costs.
- Picks up mail/packages from the main USPS location in Huntingdon.
- Maintains address locations for faculty, staff, students, and offices of the college. Assigns mail pickup locations for campus community and box numbers to incoming students.
- Oversees delivery of most USPS , UPS , and Fed-Ex packages to central distribution points in the various academic and administrative buildings.
- Receives and maintains cash records on stamp sales, registered mail, and other service payments. Processes deposits from sales to the USPS . Issues chargebacks to campus offices and departments.
- Manages, schedules, and trains employees, which includes a part-time staff member and student assistants who are critical to the operations of the post office.
- Oversees and responsible for department golf cart used for campus delivery process.
- Advises users of bulk mailing on necessary procedures and methods of reducing costs.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
