PROGRAM MANAGER, ORANGE COUNTY
POSITION DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Regional Executive Director, the Program Manager works in collaboration with the regional team & is responsible for managing volunteer engagement, program coordination, and administrative duties related to Junior Achievement (JA) programs in assigned schools throughout Orange County, as part of the Orange County & Inland Empire region. Responsibilities include collaborating & oversight of assigned program delivery, volunteer recruitment, placement, and training, organizing special student events and competitions, tracking program data, supporting grant-related program requirements, and providing administrative support for the regional team. Full-time position (40 hours/week) based in Costa Mesa, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination
- Coordinate the delivery of assigned JA programs in Orange County to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Support the recruitment, scheduling, and implementation of assigned JA programs with school and community partners.
- Facilitate communication with schools, administrators, volunteers, and other stakeholders to manage program logistics.
- Prepare and distribute program materials to volunteers, ensuring alignment with program needs.
- Collaborate with the regional team to maintain program quality, consistency, and alignment with strategic objectives.
Supervisory & Decision-Making Responsibilities
- Supervise interns and volunteers, providing guidance, direction, training, and performance feedback.
- Assign tasks & monitor progress to ensure program success and participant growth.
- Foster a supportive & engaging environment for interns and volunteers to develop skills & contribute to program goals.
- Make independent decisions on significant matters related to program execution, volunteer coordination, and stakeholder engagement without close supervision.
- Identify potential challenges and implement solutions proactively to maintain program integrity and success.
- Exercise discretion & sound judgment when working with school partners, volunteers, donors, & stakeholders.
Volunteer Engagement & Support
- Coordinate volunteer assignments and provide training under the guidance of the regional leadership team.
- Provide on-site and virtual support during program delivery to ensure smooth execution and quality experience.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with volunteers to encourage ongoing engagement and support.
- Work with groups & community partners to recruit new volunteers, ensuring a diverse and capable volunteer base.
Data Tracking & Reporting
- Track program participation and volunteer engagement using the BCRM database in real time.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of teacher, school, and volunteer involvement.
- Prepare reports and data summaries to support grant applications, program evaluations, and strategic planning efforts.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry to support organizational reporting requirements and performance measurement.
Program Evaluation & Grant Compliance
- Administer pre- and post-program evaluation tools to students, teachers, and volunteers as needed.
- Collect and analyze feedback to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Track and report on grant-related program delivery, ensuring all funder expectations are met.
- Support grant-funded programs within Orange County, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
Administrative Duties
- Serve as the administrative lead to support to the program team.
- Provide on-going support to region on program logistics, including coordinating meetings, deliveries, drafting correspondence, and maintaining organized records.
- Ensure clear communication and efficient processes.
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with the regional team, including development, education, and administrative staff, to achieve organizational goals.
- Support cross-departmental initiatives to enhance program reach and impact across the Orange County & Inland Empire region.
- Represent Junior Achievement at partner meetings, community events, and educational forums as assigned.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
