Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual to join our team as Assistant Operations Manager at the Junior League of Summit Thrift Shop. In this newly created part-time role, the Assistant Operations Manager will partner with the Thrift Shop’s Manager on daily operations of the Shop, coordinating member shop volunteers, and developing new revenue streams, such as online resale.

The Assistant Operations Manager will share the daily operations of our Shop, including all opening and closing procedures, inventory management, sales and marketing strategies, staff management and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Shop Growth: Collaborate with the shop manager on strategies to drive store sales, increase profitability, & grow the existing customer base.
- Operational Management: Assist in managing the daily operations of the Thrift Shop, including but not limited to: staff scheduling, inventory management, and donation management.
- Sales & Marketing: Assist the Shop Manager to develop & execute strategies to drive sales, including promotional events, strengthening shop community partners, , and other forms of marketing to enhance visibility and attract new business.
- Social Media Advertising: Work with the JLS Communications Council to create engaging content for various social media platforms to highlight shop offerings, special events, and promotions.
- Team Leadership: Motivate and lead the Thrift Shop team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Financial Management: Assist with financial tasks including sales tracking, banking, & other weekly sales goals.
- Customer Service: Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained, resolving any issues effectively and maintaining a positive store atmosphere.
- Part-time: average 20-25 hours per week.

- Experience: Retail management or relevant experience.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically about business growth and new revenue opportunities for the Shop.
- Technology Savvy: Proficiency in using social media platforms for marketing and experience with online sales platforms.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a diverse and intimate team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Physical Workload: Must be able to lift 30 lbs combined with frequent use of stairs.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
