What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Tennis position at Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC)?
JTCC is hiring a full-time Director of Tennis who is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing the tennis program at Westfield Marriott in Chantilly, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Court Instruction (50%): A significant portion of the role involves teaching tennis (approximately 20 hours per week) to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. This includes private lessons, group clinics, player evaluations, and developing training programs. The Director will also be responsible for organizing tennis events and tournaments.
- Program Management (15%): This involves working with the JTCC Vice President to implement JTCC's coaching methodologies, maintaining knowledge of current tennis techniques, promoting player engagement, supervising court usage, and ensuring proper fee collection.
- Staff Management (15%): The Director will supervise 1-5 tennis staff members, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, payroll, and disciplinary actions.
- Operations & Facility Management (15%): This includes inspecting courts and equipment, ensuring safety standards, monitoring facility usage, planning staffing levels, implementing cost controls, and coordinating with the hotel and JTCC VP on facility issues. The Director will also act as a liaison between JTCC and the Westfield Marriott General Manager.
- Business Development & Member Relations (15%): This involves meeting customer satisfaction expectations, managing membership attrition, achieving financial goals, implementing cost controls, and working cross-departmentally to improve program performance.
Location:
- Primarily at the Westfield Marriott in Chantilly, VA from mid-March to mid-October.
- At the JTCC in College Park, MD from mid-October to mid-March.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $75,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
