What are the responsibilities and job description for the CASHIER - P/T (Variable Shift) [Peñitas] position at Juniors Supermarkets?
Cashiers provide fast, friendly, and accurate check out services for our customers using computerized cash register systems. The Cashier assists customers waiting for check out in the store. Scan items, request price checks, honors appropriate coupons, collects payment and gives change as appropriate. Responsible for counting the contents of the cash register drawer at the end of each shift. May bag items or perform other duties as needed.
- Verify content and quantity of money in the cash drawer at the beginning and the end of the shift.
- Check out customers by scanning items and enter any extra coupons or discounts when prompted.
- Assist the customer through the different payment options accepted at the store and make any necessary changes.
- May be required to assist customers in bagging their groceries.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to outgoing and friendly in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal communications skills.
- Previous grocery store experience is preferred.
- Ability to work and remain calm under pressure.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
