Description

Meat Market Clerks are responsible assisting our customers in choosing high quality and unique meats and other various specialty meat items, including convenient meal solutions. Meat Market Clerks work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment. Primary responsibilities include wrapping and packaging meat, rotating product in the display case, keeping the department clean at all times, setting up/breaking down display case, answering customer questions regarding services and products offered, and providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have outstanding customer service skills and a solid knowledge of knives, saws, and their usage. They should be familiar with specialty meat items and processes, including the ability to communicate effectively about different types and cuts of meat. The candidate must be able to distinguish between various cuts of meat and have knowledge of cooking methods for each. Additionally, experience with meat processing equipment, including its breakdown and assembly, is essential. The role requires the ability to lift and carry 60-90 lbs. regularly and to frequently stand, walk, squat, bend, sit, balance, and rotate the body. Candidates should demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and at least some general work experience is required.
