Produce Clerks are responsible for the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise in the produce department including trimming, watering, and merchandising of products to ensure fresh, high quality offerings. They are responsible for proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability. They answer customer questions about produce and help increase sales by handing out food samples and by recommending additional items to customers.
The ideal candidate for this position should be capable of frequently lifting 35 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs. They should be comfortable with frequent bending, walking, standing, twisting, pushing or pulling, crouching, kneeling, or squatting.
Additionally, the candidate should possess good judgment and decision-making skills, as well as strong social skills and verbal interaction abilities. Basic reading, writing, and math skills are also necessary.
While previous work experience is preferred, candidates with no prior experience will also be considered. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
