What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver Agronomy Tech position at Juniper Landscaping Of Florida Llc?
The Driver Agronomy Tech is responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the management of ornamental plants, turf, and landscapes. This role involves working closely with the Lead Agronomy Tech to ensure optimal growth, health, and appearance of turf and plants in various settings.
- Follow a strict and regimented schedule provided by the Lead Agronomy Tech
- Monitor plant health and diagnose issues related to pest diseases and environmental stress
- Conduct soil testing to determine nutrient levels and recommend appropriate amendments
- Monitor soil moisture levels and provide feedback to Lead Agronomy Tech
- Applying fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides as needed to lawns, shrubs and plant material in accordance with accepted industry practices, safety procedures, label instructions, and rules and requirements of various Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies
- Safely handling and mixing fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides according to label instructions
- Ensuring the safe, proper operation and cleanliness of tools, vehicles, and equipment; adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Producing accurate records of fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides used
- Complete all assigned work orders and communicate status appropriately to Lead Agronomy Tech
- Communicate effectively with team members and Lead Agronomy Tech to understand project needs and deliver quality results
- Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to control and prevent pest infestations
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, fertilizers, and soil science preferred
- Knowledge of equipment, equipment calibration, tools, and machinery needed for agronomy operations
- Knowledge of common turf and ornamental issues preferred
- Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) Certification required within the first 30 days holding position required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of mobile devices preferred
- Must possess a valid US driver’s license (or equivalent) and meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) verification requirements
