Job Description:
As a Structural Designer at JGEG, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll gain hands-on experience and grow into a well-rounded structural engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with principals and senior engineers on tasks such as:
- Preparing structural engineering calculations, reports, and deliverables.
- Coordinating with drafters to develop efficient construction documents.
- Representing JGEG in multidisciplinary design team meetings.
- Support construction administration activities, including:
- Conducting site visits.
- Reviewing submittals and responding to contractor RFIs.
- Assisting with project closeout.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, with a strong academic focus on seismic and structural engineering.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience.
- FE exam passed or EIT certification preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with excellent time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and the potential to develop strong engineering judgment.
- Familiarity with structural engineering and design software, including ETABS, SAFE, RAM, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Basic knowledge of building codes and material design guidelines (e.g., IBC, CBC, ASCE 7, ASCE 41, ACI 318, AISC 360, TMS 402) is a plus.
