Conflicts Analyst
Our client, a major Delaware law firm, is seeking a Conflicts and Client Intake Analyst to handle conflict analysis, document retention, and client intake and engagement. The Analyst will work with the Manager of Conflicts and Client Intake to identify, analyze, and resolve potential conflicts of interest. This individual will work directly with the partners to ensure new matters are compliant with the Firm’s conflict and risk management policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Analyze conflict reports to identify potential conflicts.
Assist with urgent conflict issues that arise outside normal business hours.
Perform legal research related to conflicts clearance, lateral hiring, and ethical walls.
Work with General Counsel and partners to resolve business conflict issues.
Independently communicate with attorneys and coordinate, propose, and document matter conflict issues and resolutions.
Assist the Manager of Conflicts and Client Intake with establishing ethical walls to screen individuals from particular clients and matters as part of the conflict clearing process.
Ensure waivers, when appropriate, are included with engagement letters and provided to the Manager of Conflicts and Client Intake.
Assist with conflict training and development of new risk management procedures.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in risk management and conflict analysis, or a law degree from an accredited law school; alternatively, candidates with 10 or more years of relevant experience will also be considered.
At least 5 years of experience working with conflicts in a law firm or in-house counsel department.
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive data.
Conflict database experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability and willingness to be on call as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and analytical skills.
