What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA- Food Safety Supervisor position at Jurado, Inc.?
QA Supervisor will assist in managing and leading the QA program development of SQF, GMP’s, HACCP, and SOP’s. They will assist in technician training, technical coverage, recommend procedure improvements, manage ingredient inspection program, assist in guiding sanitation and manage special specification improvement projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train technicians on new and existing procedures
- Manage incoming ingredient inspection program and sample retains.
- Record, and evaluate lab and production data to recommend corrective actions.
- Replace technicians in the event of sickness or vacation
- Verify, and record product specifications. Data entry (computer skills)
- Assist in Q.A. Training or Production in GMPs. (Verbal skills)
- Manage special projects to improve process monitors and procedures (math skills)
- Send microbiological samples to the corresponding lab.
- Assist technicians during increased monitoring periods.
- Make suggestions on the technician’s performance review.
- Assist in consumer complaints and internal investigations.
- Assist in technician scheduling, line assignments, and cross-training.
- Verify new and existing programs. Sanitation, GMPS, etc.
- Perform internal audits.
- Perform plant condition/cleanliness audits.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Update GMP training and deliver training to employees.
- Computer skills using Excel and Word.
- New employee orientation/training.
- Notify Management of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
- Perform all duties necessary to meet SQF, and or Government regulations/requirements.
- Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
- Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, and safety system.
- Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP:
Works closely with other Quality Assurance employees, production supervisor, and management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to read, write and communicate orally in English/Spanish.
Must be able to work in a wide range of temperatures.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- High School, Associate in the related field, or experience.
- 2-3 yrs. Technical-related experience in the food industry.
- Communication skills.
- Math skills.
- Must be computer literate – MS office.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
