Job Description:
The Curriculum Coordinator / Assistant Director will oversee the implementation of educational programs using Frog Street, ensuring they align with Texas Rising Star guidelines. This role will also assist the Director in daily operations, compliance with regulations, and supporting staff leadership. The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education and a deep understanding of the Texas Rising Star quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum using Frog Street for all age groups, ensuring compliance with Texas Rising Star guidelines.
- Lead staff in curriculum planning, assessment, and activities that promote children’s development in line with state standards.
- Assist the Director with daily management, including supervising staff, coordinating schedules, and creating a positive, compliant environment.
- Ensure continuous improvement through staff training and professional development to meet Texas Rising Star requirements.
- Maintain communication with parents and caregivers about children's progress and address any concerns.
- Ensure the classroom environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records, including assessments and documentation of children's development.
- Be willing to drive the school van, if needed, to transport children as part of daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
- Prior experience in early childhood education and curriculum development, with knowledge of Texas Rising Star standards.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance with Texas Rising Star and other regulatory standards.
- Knowledge of child development, early childhood education best practices, and the Frog Street curriculum.
- Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (required, or willing to obtain).
- Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive the school van if needed.
- Must meet all qualifications required by Texas Rising Star for the role.
