Just a Theory Press is a growing music publishing company specializing in high-quality print and digital music products for composers, performers, and educators. We take pride in our commitment to excellence in music engraving, printing, and distribution. We are seeking a motivated Part-Time Warehouse & Print Shop Associate to join our team and play a key role in our day-to-day operations.
Position Overview
This role involves managing print jobs, tracking inventory, preparing and shipping orders, and handling rental materials. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced but friendly environment. This position requires regular communication with the Executive Director and Operations Manager regarding order fulfillment, inventory levels, and rental logistics to ensure smooth operations.
After training, there is flexibility in scheduling hours. Additionally, this position offers room for growth, and we hope that a strong candidate may eventually transition into a Production Manager role.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor digital printing equipment to produce high-quality sheet music and related materials
- Assemble, bind, and package printed music products
- Process, package, and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle incoming and outgoing rental materials, ensuring proper organization and documentation
- Track and maintain inventory of printed materials and supplies, communicating with the Executive Director and Operations Manager about stock levels and needs
- Conduct quality control checks on printed products
- Assist with general warehouse and print shop organization
- Other duties as assigned
Training & Tools
No prior print production experience is required—training will be provided in operating digital production printing equipment and various finishing techniques. Employees will also learn best practices for inventory management, order fulfillment, and rental processing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and reaching.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in music or music publishing is a plus, but not required.
- Experience in production printing or knowledge of Fiery software is a plus, but not required.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Part-time position (approx. 15-25 hours per week).
- After training, flexible scheduling is available to accommodate personal or academic commitments.
