What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Sales Associate/Operations Assistant for unique boutique position at Just Beachy Gifts and Decor?
We have a great opportunity for a unique individual who has a minimum several years of retail sales associate work and knowledge of back-of-house operations. An understanding of inventory management and product merchandising/staging is a plus.
We are a one-of-a-kind, eclectic retail shop located just steps from the beach—perfect for anyone who enjoys interacting with people while helping them select coastal-themed home decor, jewelry and other gifts that feature mermaids, turtles, dolphins and more.
The position offers anywhere from 13-30 hrs a week (no full-time) depending on your schedule and is a combination of Sales Associate and Operations Assistant with a focus on cash register/sales. Perfect for someone in college, semi-retired or looking to supplement another job. We are specifically looking for someone who can work weekdays, but this doesn't rule out some weekend and/or evening work on occasion.
There is flexibility as to shifts and they don’t need to be same shifts from one week to the next. Essential Job Functions:
- Use of Square point-of-sale system and basic cash-handling procedures
- Responsible for assisting with operational tasks as delegated by the Store Manager
- Maintain store's appearance with restocking, staging and general cleaning/straightening
- Self-sufficient and comfortable working alone
Background Requirements:
- High school education or equivalent with Sales/Retail experience preferred
- Possess a professional demeanor and work ethic
- Ability to climb small ladder, hang items with retail pole and lift boxes up to 25 lbs
- Have reliable transportation and ability to be on time
Must-Have Skillset:
- Whether 2 mos. or 20 years ago, must have previous retail experience, boutique setting or large retailer
- Able to perform openings, closings and other operational procedures in the absence of the Store Manager
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 13 – 30 per week
