I am currently representing a leading fenestration company with revenue of circa $100million, specialising in design, manufacturing and installation on large projects throughout NJ and NY.
Focusing on High End Residential and High Volume Commercial, due to a recent retirement from the business. They are looking for a Purchasing expert to lead around $30m in purchasing per year.
About the Role
Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy :
Conduct market research and analysis to identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
Negotiate and secure favorable contracts with suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and optimal terms.
Develop and implement strategies for risk mitigation and supply chain continuity.
Identify and explore opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Manage supplier relationships :
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.
Resolve any supplier-related issues promptly and effectively.
Collaborate with suppliers on product development and innovation.
Oversee all aspects of the procurement process :
Manage the entire procurement cycle from requisition to receipt and payment.
Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies and procedures.
Implement and maintain an efficient inventory management system.
Monitor and analyze procurement data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Manage a high-performing procurement team :
Recruit, hire, train, and develop a team of procurement professionals.
Delegate effectively and empower team members to achieve their goals.
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices :
Attend industry conferences and trade shows.
Maintain knowledge of current market conditions and pricing trends.
Explore and implement new procurement technologies and tools.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations :
Adhere to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with all import / export regulations.
About the Candidate
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
10 Years Experience as a Senior Purchasing Leader in a similar industry
Window and Door, Glazing or similar experience is required.
Proven experience in negotiating and managing supplier contracts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP / MRP systems.
Experience with inventory management systems and techniques.
