About Just Kids Preschool :
We are a Mandarin & Cantonese preschool program located in the Richmond District. We strive to exceed standard learning expectations. We are an open ended, fun and caring preschool to help children grow, learn and build self confidence through play.
Job Responsibilities :
The Preschool Director is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Preschool and its programs, and for the long-term vision and functioning of the school. The Director is the Preschool’s face to the parents and public.
The major areas of responsibility include :
- Vision and Strategic Planning
- Ensures successful implementation of approved preschool curriculum by providing and maintaining quality educational programs
- Maintains compliance with accreditation and state licensing requirements as well as all applicable state and federal laws, and preschool policies and procedures
- Emphasizing student’s achievement and create an environment that nurtures and promotes children’s development and well-being
- Tactical Planning, Leadership, and Program Supervision
- Health and Safety
- Financial planning, budget & fiscal accountability
- Staff Management
- Communication with parents
- Fully qualified to be a childcare director within the state of California (infant through school-age) in accordance with CDSS regulation 101215.1.
- High school graduation or GED; completion, with passing grades, of 15 semester or equivalent quarter units as specified in (h)(1)(A) and (h)(1)(B) below at an accredited or approved college or university; and at least four years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
- Three of the 15 units required in (h)(1) above shall be in administration or staff relations. Twelve of the 15 units required in (h)(1) above shall include courses that cover the general areas of child growth and development, or human growth and development; child, family and community, or child and family; and program / curriculum.
- An associate of arts degree from an accredited or approved college or university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development; and at least two years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited or approved college or university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development; and at least one year of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
- A Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or a Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- A child care center director shall complete 16 hours of health and safety training if necessary pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866.
- Experienced with a minimum of 3 years between early childhood / preschool leadership (director, assistant director, administrator, lead teacher etc.) and early childhood teaching.
- Highly organized, dependable, responsible, creative, self-motivated, self-directed and efficient.
- Certified in infant and child CPR and First Aid or willing to obtain certification before start date.
- A demonstrated leader with the ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain staff.
- A problem solver who has demonstrated an ability to deliver both positive and difficult messages to parents and staff with compassion, understanding and firmness.
