Retail Sales Associate/Customer Service

This position is for a Retail Associate at our lampshade showroom in midtown Manhattan. We are an acclaimed and long-standing lampshade business that has been in business for over 50 years here in NYC. This role would start at about 25 hours per week, with additional hours available later on.

We work with many distinguished designers, decorators, prestigious hotels and restaurants, and film & TV set designers. Therefore this position is for someone who is comfortable speaking with people, and is able to provide exceptional customer service. This position may also be of interest to individuals who are interested in the interior design space, or are looking to start their careers in this industry.

This job will also have exposure to our successful and growing e-commerce arm of the business, which may offer further work opportunities as we scale.

At this time, our store is open from Monday-Saturday, so some weekend work will be required.

This position includes the following:

• Retail sales and checkout
• Computer savvy (POS Systems, QuickBooks, etc.)
• Answering phone calls and emails
• Assisting with the fulfillment of e-commerce orders
• Light maintenance (inventory stocking, end-of-day closing procedures, etc.)
• Weekend (Saturday) availability

Qualifications:

• Previous sales experience (in a retail setting prefered but not required)
• Demonstrated computer experience (POS systems, Quickbooks, etc.)
• Demonstrated communication skills, with a friendly and outgoing demeanor
• Ability to Multi-task
• Knowledge of Interior Design
