Laborer
Position Summary :
The Laborer will assist in the installation, maintenance, and general labor tasks related to the People Counting Sensor System project at the Orange County Convention Center. This role involves performing various manual tasks to support the successful implementation of the project, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
General Labor Tasks :
Perform physical labor tasks as assigned by the Project Manager or site supervisor.
Assist in the setup and cleanup of project sites, including the disposal of debris and waste materials.
Handle and transport materials, tools, and equipment to various locations on the project site.
Installation Support :
Assist with the installation of people counting sensors and related data infrastructure.
Follow instructions from skilled tradespeople and technicians to support the installation process.
Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
Site Maintenance :
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the site supervisor.
Safety Compliance :
Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for various tasks.
Participate in safety training sessions and drills as directed by the Project Manager.
Team Collaboration :
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure project milestones are met.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to report progress and any issues encountered.
Assist with other tasks as needed to support the overall success of the project.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in construction or general labor preferred.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Capability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
Must be able to perform tasks that require standing, bending, and kneeling.
