Maintenance Technician

Job Summary : The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all assigned facility equipment and systems are operating efficiently and effectively through regular preventative maintenance and repairs. This role involves a wide range of duties related to building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Preventative Maintenance : Regularly inspect, test, and maintain facility equipment and systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous operation. This includes HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing systems.
  • Building Repairs : Perform general building maintenance tasks, including the repair and replacement of lighting systems, ballast, fixtures, and lamps. This also includes repairing drywall, prepping and painting walls, and ensuring the integrity of doors and locks.
  • Plumbing Maintenance : Repair, install, and maintain plumbing systems within commercial facilities. This involves working with components such as urinal diaphragms and flush valves.
  • Safety Compliance : Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations. This includes using appropriate safety gear and maintaining clean and safe work environments.
  • Material Handling : Load and unload materials as needed, ensuring that materials are stored safely and efficiently.
  • Equipment Operation : Operate lifts and ladders safely, working at heights of up to 60 feet when necessary.
  • Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve issues with building systems, including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing problems, using appropriate tools and techniques.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in building maintenance, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs and work from heights.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to building maintenance.
  • Education and Experience :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant certifications or training in maintenance or related fields is preferred.
