JRI’s Youth Harbors program provides services to high school students who are experiencing homelessness. Our staff aim to help these youth survive and thrive by equipping them with the skills and stability they need to graduate high school and transition into adulthood. We provide housing assistance, drop-out prevention services, career development and finical literacy coaching, connections to health care providers, post-graduation planning services, and life skills development. Most importantly, we create a support network around each student providing them the security of knowing that there is always someone they can reach out to for help.

JRI Provides The Training So That
- YOU will be based with an office inside of a high school and work inside and outside of the school to provide wraparound case management to homeless unaccompanied students and students at-risk of becoming unaccompanied and homeless.
- YOU will receive referrals from school personnel and work collaboratively with appropriate school and community providers to support the academic and nonacademic needs of Youth Harbors students.
- YOU will conduct pre-screening eligibility assessment, intake, program, and discharge processes.
- YOU will provide direct assistance and referral services to meet eligible students’ housing, employment, academic, health, and independent living needs.
- YOU will share full and timely information on evolving student caseload and risk issues with the Program Director.
- YOU will establish and facilitate collaborative partnerships with school, community, and government partners.
- YOU will maintain timely and comprehensive case records and program data information.
- YOU will demonstrate clear professional boundaries with students and collaterals in a school and community setting.
- YOU will stay current regarding evolving best practice and homeless issues.
- YOU will attend all required professional, management, agency, and in-service training.

- Bachelor's degree or two years of experience working with a similar population in education and/or human services.
- Candidates who are bi-lingual and have knowledge of cultural diversity issues are preferred.
- Candidates with work experience with adolescents and families, educational settings, provider community and/or related service providers are preferred.
- Candidates must have proficiency in report writing and computer skills.
- Candidates with knowledge of homeless practices and policies are preferred.
- Applicants must maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to an insured vehicle as travel is required.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
