Who We Are Looking For:
Are you the Medical Assistant we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our clients!
Journey Home is an intensive Group Home setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. Journey Home provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.
Schedule: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, includes a weekend shift
JRI Provides The Training So That:
- YOU will be able to develop your nursing skills by educating and providing health care services to promote healthy choices that enhances our clients’ physical and mental well-being.
- YOU will be able to create a safe and therapeutic community by providing oversight and vigilance around documenting and administering medications and completing assessments to ensure the best treatment for our clients.
- YOU will help clients discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop awareness around their medical needs and how to make healthy choices around nutrition, hygiene and exercise.
- YOU will be able to manage caseload for adolescents in a group home setting. Act as liaison between program, DCF/DMH, schools, therapists, families and other providers.
- YOU will be able to work with the clinical and group home staff to create a safe, caring environment that supports growth and independence. Maintain collateral contacts and provide liaison support to client guardians, schools, & ongoing communication with medical providers.
- YOU will be able to complete appropriate documentation and paperwork as necessary to include onsite visitor & offsite overnight passes. Coordinate and process all client medication paperwork in accordance with the state required Medication Administration Program (MAP).
- YOU will maintain health records for all youth making sure all are up to date with medical, dental, vision, and if applicable all other health and wellness goals/needs. Scheduling appointments and follow ups. And any other duties under the RFR and DCF Medical policy
- YOU will be able to work collaboratively with the Program Nurse and Program Director to facilitate and maintain compliance with the MAP Policy Manual, as well as MAP policy specific to Journey Home and ensure all MAP Certified staff are in compliance with annual trainings, CPR/First Aid, and MAP recertification.

Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant certificate preferred.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Medication Administration Program preferred.
- MAP Certification preferred.
- Experience working with specialized populations of adolescents preferred.
- Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
- Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
