Job Summary
JVI Group is a leading heavy/highway contracting firm in Pennsylvania, serving diverse clients like PennDOT, local County & Municipalities and private stakeholders with unparalleled dedication and performance. JVI Group offers robust services including heavy-haul trucking across the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond, milling and paving for residential and commercial properties. We have an extensive fleet of owned dump trucks, heavy-haul trucks, and concrete redi-mix trucks, catering to local quarries, redi-mix plants and contractors.
Our Fleet Manager is responsible for ensuring the inspection, maintenance and repair of all JVI vehicles and equipment, as well as maintaining current and accurate titles, licensing, tags, reporting, taxes and registrations as needed for the fleet.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate company vehicle and trailer usage to ensure that all inspections are done in a timely manner with as little disruption to company operation as possible.
- Ensure that company owned and leased passenger vehicles are inspected on time. Manage Verizon Reveal GPS installations and updates.
- Ensure all new and existing vehicles have the necessary title and registration.
- Responsible for applicable vehicle and fuel taxes, stickers, registrations and equipment.
- Ensure that current paperwork is maintained within all CMV’s.
- Assist Safety Manger with responding to accidents and incidents when company vehicles or equipment are involved.
- Work cooperatively with Human Resources and Safety to ensure that all company drivers have current records on file and track DOT credentials as appropriate.
- Perform Road Tests with potential employees as part of the new hire process.
- Review all violations by CMV drivers.
- Track DVIRs and ensure completion.
- Assist, as needed, with parts acquisition, equipment delivery and escort duties.
- Ensure lettering and numbering of equipment and vehicles.
- This position is considered “essential personnel” and will be responsible for responding in inclement weather and assisting with snow removal as needed.
- Must be willing to participate in training classes that are given by JVI Group, Inc. or requested by JVI Group, Inc.
Requirements
- Must have knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations pertaining to Motor vehicles, Environmental regulations, Occupational safety and general business practices relating to the construction and transportation industries.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable speaking to groups and individuals.
- Computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to multitask.
- Ability to work with various departments, foster teamwork, and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions.
- Must have a positive mindset and be a strong leader.
- Preferred Class A CDL.
- Must have a least five (5) years of progressively responsible fleet experience.
