Description
The role of the Specialist Project Coordinator (SPC) is to work in collaboration with the Program Manager and other JVS staff associated with the Veterans First program. The SPC will facilitate and expand vocational and employer-based training opportunities for the program. The SPC will be responsible for managing the JVS SoCal Veteran Service disability services contracts, supporting program deliverables and contract specifications. The SPC will interpret and apply current applicable federal, state, and local regulations, grant program, and JVS SoCal guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure successful program delivery and management.
The SPC will ensure that project performance is consistent with contract requirements, coordinate program processes, analyze data, and stay current with employment and veteran service trends. The SPC must also understand eligibility criteria, WIOA standard measures, and program outcomes. Additionally, the SPC should be familiar with WIOA policy and procedures to identify opportunities to enhance, leverage, and support existing Veteran programs.
The SPC will coordinate high-growth training cohorts, conduct targeted outreach to recruit eligible Veterans for training cohorts, and develop working relationships with other agencies that provide services to Veterans. The SPC will ensure appropriate collaboration and leveraging of services. Moreover, the SPC will provide thorough program updates with external partners and collaborators at program meetings.
Requirements
1. Ability to facilitate groups and provide support to a wide variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, veteran communities and other diverse population.
2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and representatives of community agencies.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including MS Office, and travel to other offices.
Education / Certification / Licensure
BA or BS degree in social work, career counseling, or other related fields. Three or more years of experience working with Veterans and facilitating Veteran groups.
Salary Description
25.00 - $26.50 per Hour
