What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist position at JW Industries LLC?
JW Industries LLC is seeking a inventory control specialist to perform purchasing functions, strategize various inventory management methods and implement cost saving initiatives which support the daily operations of the company. This position will collaborate with operations and finance to create effective business plans to meet and exceed overall company goals.
Responsibilities:
Ø Execute and manage supplier purchase orders to achieve the production build plans.
Ø Enter and review material requirements in JobBOSS (ERP system).
Ø Review material requirements for stock jobs and custom projects to ensure accuracy.
Ø Maintain job templates in JobBOSS.
Ø Work with suppliers to confirm PO acknowledgements, required delivery dates, packaging and labeling requirements, and shipping processes. Ensure clear communication of expectations and priorities with suppliers. Develop SOP’s and ensure suppliers adhere to them.
Ø Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems, trace shipments follow up undelivered goods, and communicate information daily to operations.
Ø Ensure and verify receipt and accountability of deliveries, supporting right-sized, organized and clean raw material warehouse.
Ø Maintain inventory accuracy within the system.
Ø Design and implement systems to establish visibility to purchasing requirements.
Ø Monitor the amount of product being made and stored.
Ø Help formulate make versus buy decisions.
Ø Leverage vendors and institute VMI practices where appropriate.
Ø Manage purchased parts inventory; including disposition of slow moving, excess, or obsolete.
Ø Collaborate with sales to forecast for customer needs and business growth.
Ø Communicate monthly pricing trend report to Operations and Sales to ensure clear visibility and understanding of raw material pricing.
Ø Create safe and efficient material storage and flow through the facility.
Ø Drive continuous improvement using 5-S methodologies to eliminate waste and ensure a lean focus as well as incorporate sustainable solutions.
Ø Train and guide employees.
Ø Maintain and enhance supplier relationships and contract negotiations.

Experience:

Ø Minimum of three years related operations, lean, and previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ø Experience in a metal manufacturing/fabrication business is desired.
Ø Proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system – JobBOSS experience strongly encouraged.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
