6W Neuro MedSurg position at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Common diagnoses include Neurosciences, DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators), Stroke, Seizures, Surgical / PostOp Spines, Neurological Disorders.

Unit has 20 beds (14 floor, 6 stepdown) with ratios of 1 : 5-6 for floor patients.

Job Requirements

BLS is required, ACLS & NIHSS are preferred.

Overall strong Neuro experience is a must.

Schedule Information

Weekend day positions : Friday, Saturday and Sundays.

Weekend night positions : Friday, Saturday, and Sundays OR Saturday, Sundays, and Mondays.

Nights (weekdays) : every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule.

Unit Specific Information

Unit 6 WEST - Neuro with 20 beds (14 floor, 6 stepdown).

Titration is only done by physician's orders in a step-down setting.

There is tele on this unit; RNs do not have to read strips.

Additional Details

Charge Nurse available 24 / 7.

RT is available 24 / 7; RN's are not required to have vent experience.

Travelers need to be flexible with scheduling.
