Job Details

  • 6W Neuro MedSurg position at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
  • Common diagnoses include Neurosciences, DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators), Stroke, Seizures, Surgical / PostOp Spines, Neurological Disorders.
  • Unit has 20 beds (14 floor, 6 stepdown) with ratios of 1 : 5-6 for floor patients.

    • Job Requirements

  • BLS is required, ACLS & NIHSS are preferred.
  • Overall strong Neuro experience is a must.

    • Schedule Information

  • Weekend day positions : Friday, Saturday and Sundays.
  • Weekend night positions : Friday, Saturday, and Sundays OR Saturday, Sundays, and Mondays.
  • Nights (weekdays) : every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Unit 6 WEST - Neuro with 20 beds (14 floor, 6 stepdown).
  • Titration is only done by physician's orders in a step-down setting.
  • There is tele on this unit; RNs do not have to read strips.

    • Additional Details

  • Charge Nurse available 24 / 7.
  • RT is available 24 / 7; RN's are not required to have vent experience.
  • Travelers need to be flexible with scheduling.
