7W Stepdown - 22
Typical MedSurg population. Chest Pain, COPD, AMS, Pneumonia, UTI, Abdominal Pain, Overflow for most services, hospice (will 'flip' patients to GIP Hospice on 7 West)
32 Total Beds (12 are Stepdown & 20 are 'Floor')
Ratios : 1 : 3 for Stepdown, 1 : 4-6 for 'Floor'
Charge Nurse / House Supervisor is always available
RN's must be able to read strips in conjunction with the telemetry monitor techs that continuously monitor strips
Job Requirements
Can only submit to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system
Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years
Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years
Individual unit requirements listed in pulse apply
Travel teams must be submitted together in 1 email
We are only permitted to submit 2 candidates per opening, if the position is at max, we will hold on to the submission if a spot opens up
Schedule Information
7a-7 : 30p; 7p-7 : 30a
2 Weekends per schedule
Work into the perm staff holiday schedule
Can be pulled to any floor or stepdown unit
Unit Specific Information
Unit : 7 WEST (Stepdown & Floor)
Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Yes - Drips in Stepdown, floor only gets PCAs, heparin, etc.
Scrub Color / Dress code : Royal Blue
Unit / Department specific orientation : Unknown
Additional Details
COVID VACCINE REQUIRED : Fully vaccinated means either 2 shots of Moderna or Pfizer or 1 shot of J&J; If a traveler wants to decline based on a Medical or Religious reason, please have them fill out the appropriate Exemption Form and email it to the address on the form. These should be done ASAP as they have to go through a council to be approved or denied
