SUMMARY
Performs diversified administrative support to specific Human Resources areas at the direction of the JX Advanced Metals HR Director. Serves as a role model in maintaining and enhancing a positive workplace environment and shaping the Company's culture to foster empowered, insightful, and engaged employees. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Job Duties will include
- Provides excellent customer service to employees, contractors, vendors and external contacts addressing day-to-day human resource questions and requests for information. Explains HR & Payroll policies and procedures to employees as needed.

Provides support in all functional areas of human resources:
- Recruiting
- Participates in the recruitment process, including advertising open positions, managing the applicant tracking system, coordinating and participating in interviews
- Ensure Job Description is on file. Assess skills and educational requirements based on Job Description.
- Create offer letters for approval

Applicant Tracking
- Obtain completed JXU Employment Application Form from candidate
- Conducts required background checks and communicates findings to hiring managers. Provides employment references and verification of employment to outside agencies according to agency standards.
- Including e-verify processing
- Order and track background checks and drug screenings
- Ensure copy of Resume is on file. Check References (if applicable).

Interviewing (basic screening)
- Performs basic screening interviewing to assess candidate meets minimum qualifications and makes recommendations

Onboarding
- Complete New Employee Set Up Form (IT, Access, IQS, etc.)
- Orientation, new hire training, data entry (iSolve)
- Facilitate new employee orientation, develop and deliver day 1 training
- Assists with completing forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, audits and maintains I-9 files, W-4 Forms (Federal and State), Complete Direct Deposit Form, Complete Emergency Contact Form, Ensure HRIS and IQS set up is complete and all information is entered, Advise employee and internal staff of orientation dates
- Complete and submit Personnel Change Notification (PCN) form to payroll, including start date, pay rates, department, supervisor, shift, and title
- Complete orientation checklist
- Arrange for employee to sign Non-Disclosure Agreement
- Arrange for employee to sign Employee Handbook acknowledgement form
- Arrange for employee to sign Applicant Affirmative Action Program Self Identification Form

- Experienced with payroll software (iSolve is an asset).

- Coordinates benefits administration. Sends paperwork and notifications within the established timeframe and forwards all necessary documents to benefit providers within established timeframes.

- Enter 401k data in Vanguard systems 401(k) Enrollment (2% Auto Enrollment)
- UMR (medical and dental) UMR Set up - Medical/Dental/Prescription
- Coordination of other JXU programs (TRP, Gym, Wellness, etc.)
- Term Life and AD&D, LTD insurance (beneficiary assignment, level of insurance)
- Reconcile and submit invoices (monthly) for various supplemental insurance companies

Training
- Work with supervisors to arrange for training delivery, tracking and record management
- Coordinate training materials as required
- Ensure all training is tracked for all employees
- Deliver training for various topics
- Ensure policies and procedures are updated to reflect training requirements or needs.

Payroll
- Time Card validation and reconciliation
- Weekly payroll runs
- Assist employees with self-service portal
- Payroll reconciliation and resolving payroll issues
- Be able to answer remedial payroll questions
- Be familiar with various tax related forms and processes

Unemployment
- Respond to employment verifications
- Track qualifications and interact with government agencies as necessary
- May assist with conducting and coordinating exit interviews with departing employees and processes all necessary paperwork

- Processing I-9
- Safety
- Processes required injury/accident forms and coordinates with the Workers' Compensation carrier.
- Compile quarterly reports on all employee injury/incident reports. Maintains and updates OSHA 300 log.

Payroll
- Maintains all human resources files and processes changes to employee status such as address changes, benefit enrollment/changes, salary changes, terminations, etc.
- Works with managers and payroll to ensure accuracy of data. Has thorough knowledge of payroll process and systems. Assists in running required reports and audits of employee information and maintenance of personnel records.
- Process and manages payroll, including timecards, assisting with payroll-related questions.
- Is thoroughly familiar with and understands the Employee Handbook and General Safety Plan.
- Communicates benefit enrollment information to new employees both direct hires and temporary workers converting to full-time.
- Provides administrative and clerical support including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, staff communication, data entry, filing, scanning documents, photocopying, mail reading and routing, phone and e-mail correspondence, and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree or its equivalent with 1-3 years of payroll and benefit administration or human resource related experience required. Experience with payroll highly desirable. Hands-on experience with payroll processing systems and HRIS systems, and benefits within the past 5 years. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Working understanding of human resources principles, practices and procedures.
- PHR certification a plus
